Rest Day – Walla Walla, WA

Joe and I spent the day relaxing.  Downtown Walla Walla is just a couple blocks away and has a thriving business community.  This is Washington wine country and about every other store front is a wine tasting establishment.

We picked up a couple spare tire tubes for Joe’s trailer, and some grease to work on a pesky squeak on Joe’ bike.  We visited Fort Walla Walla museum, but spent most of the day doing anything but riding.  I put together some of the video I have been shooting and it is part of this posting as a Week 1 Highlight reel.

I do want to let everyone know how valued your comments and e-mails are.  We have been so encouraged by your efforts to support the cause of our ride.  When the going gets tough, I think about all the selfless work being done in support of the ride.  Thank you.

Tomorrow we are going to try to reach Pomeroy, WA.  It is about 75 miles but we start back into the mountains and we will reach somewhere near 2,500 ft.  by the time we reach our destination.

    Steve and Joe,

I am enjoying traveling vicariously through the west through this blog. It has been many years since I’ve been to Washington and have forgotten how beautiful it is. I am keeping you in prayer throughout your journey.
